The digital technologies influence and change the way we think and behave in the modern world. The access to knowledge, communication, online services, e-commerce etc. extends continuously and changes our economy and social and cultural life. It brings new opportunities but also challenges consumers rights in the digital environment.
The Danish Consumer Council finds that it should become easier being a digital consumer. The consumers shall have clear rights in the digital world and the rights shall not be eroded by new technology.
The challenge is to obtain a reasonable balance between the stakeholders – the right holders and the consumers – because only so the technological possibilities will optimise and improve for a common benefit.
